More power to your elbow

Yes, we know exercise is the name of the game, and traditionalists might argue that walking around the course is an essential part of keeping fit as you play golf. But pulling a heavy trolley at some courses, especially in hilly areas, can put a strain on your back. If your muscles are sore from walking and carrying or dragging your clubs, you won’t be able to hit the ball correctly.

So why not remove some of the load by using an electric trolley, or go the whole hog and invest in your own buggy? If partners look disapproving, don’t forget to emphasise the green credentials of using an electric vehicle.

This is like no other golf buggy you'll see! Although slightly larger than most golf buggies, the Hummer HX weighs the same and with wheels further apart, there is less of an effect on the course.

They are also road legal – so ideal if you live close to your club – and being electric, are road tax free and congestion charge free!

A rear mount for a golf bag is standard and a dual bag holder is among the optional extras, which also include a solar panel roof system and custom coloured leather seats.

Garia Monaco

Featured Company - Garia

Danish company Garia does not make golf carts - it makes golf cars.

Often described as the Porsche of golf cars (not surprising as it’s manufactured in the same Finland factory that builds the Porsche Boxter), the Garia Golf Car is luxury and innovation wrapped up in an environmentally-friendly hybrid vehicle.

It now comes in a street-legal version, with seatbelts and side mirrors and a top speed of 25mph, which makes it ultra desirable if you live close to your golf club. The Garia Monaco is the version for the European market (Garia LSV for the US). It comes with extra comfortable sports seats, leather sports steering wheel, interior light, heated windshield with wiper/washer system and ice box in the dashboard, which can be upgraded to a fridge.

The primary purpose is not forgotten, with golf bag holders included and a golf ball and tee holder on the dashboard, but with its 10-inch aluminium wheels, glossy black roof and a range of between 25 and 40 miles, you might decide to use it for other leisure pursuits or short commutes.

Priced around £17,000, this electric vehicle can be customised with a wide range of extras and colour choices.
