HONOUR AND PATRIOTISM
The Kilt- an age long tradition, steeped in heritage and iconic culture.
The word kilt comes from the Scottish word meaning to draw up or tuck up cloth around the body. Popular since the 16th Century with the Highland Scots, this warm masculine tartan garment has transcended into a number of different regions and today many Scots, Welsh, Irish, and Manx still wear kilts proudly.
What began as a practical garment has evolved to become normally associated with formal gentlemen’s dresswear and is predominantly seen at Scottish weddings. Unlike so many styles, it appears the kilt will never go out of fashion!

Age-old Skill Maintained at Kilt Maker
Whether you choose a kilt for a wedding, ceremonial occasion or for casual wear, it pays to have it made by an expert.
Geoffrey (Tailor) Highland Crafts has been producing tartan cloth and hand-making kilts for four decades and knows just about everything there is to know about this highly specialised skill.
Garments are sold online and at three stores in Scotland and the company holds monthly fittings in London.
Kilts are made in a tartan and fabric weight of the customer's choice. Geoffrey (Tailor) will even custom weave tartans. Tartan fabric is also sold by the metre.
To complement the kilts, there are ultra smart kilt jackets for day or evening wear, military cut jackets and doublets.
And anyone who thinks kilts are old-fashioned should visit sister company 21st Century Kilts for truly distinctive kilts in leather, pinstripe or purple leather! Actor Alan Cumming sported a custom-made outfit by 21st Century Kilts (pictured) to collect his OBE insignia at Buckingham Palace.
