FORGET SUPERFOODS AND FADS, JUST GET FISHING!
Suddenly we are all hooked on fish – the media, the medical profession and the consumer! The benefits offered by the proteins, minerals and fatty acids (in particular, Omega 3), have sent fish soaring in the popularity stakes. The fat in fish is the 'right' sort of fat – polyunsaturated – and it is believed that eating fish twice a week can make a significant improvement to your general health.
Salmon is just one fish with high concentrations of Omega 3. Others are mackerel, pilchards, trout, kippers, fresh tuna and sardines, which can be found at some of the merchants on this page or also at our Uber selection of fishmongers. These fish are also a great source of vitamin D, which is key in supporting your immune system and the absorption of calcium to ensure healthy bones and teeth.
Smoked salmon has long been a favourite for summer garden parties or packing up in a picnic hamper to take to a day at the races or a festival. Don't forget the Champagne to go with it!
